Third quarter will hold a lot of work. One of the biggest projects for each English class is the research paper. It takes several weeks to complete it, and students really have to use their writing skills. Classes will continue to complete daily grammar sheets and vocabulary words. Classes can look forward to more literature through short stories and novels.
This site is meant to be a resource for students and for parents. You will find lots of helpful information.
ABOUT MRS. JONES: This page just lets you learn a little bit about me and my family.
ENGLISH II and III: These pages have many sub-tabs. On each page you will find a copy of the syllabus, a calendar of assignments and activities, a separate resource page for each novel/play, and a general resource page.
COLLEGE ENGLISH: This page is limited in information at this point, but it will soon have resources to aide students in writing different types of papers. Students will find most information pertaining to this class on Blackboard. That information will be given in class.
NOVEL STUDY: This page will offer resources and information about various novels and novel writing assigments.
CREATIVE WRITING: This is a second semester course. Information will be updated and changed when the class begins in January.
PARENTS:
*PowerSchool: This is an opportunity for you to check your child’s grade as often as you want. It also has a lot of other great features that you will enjoy.
*I will send out e-mail updates and reminders throughout the year. It might be an e-mail to let you know that grade cards or grade checks went home or an e-mail reminding you of an important date. There is no need to respond to these e-mails unless you have a question. It is just an easy way for me to communicate with you and keep you updated. Please let me know if your e-mail address changes, so I can be sure that you are getting the information.
